What is Mentoring?
A Mentor is often described as a professional who undertakes an active interest in the career development of someone else in the same profession or area. This is often, but not always, a younger or perhaps less experienced individual.
It's important to differentiate Mentoring from Coaching - Mentors do not attempt to advise mentoring clients, but should assist them to come to their own conclusions as to how best to achieve their goals.
Put simply, mentoring works. A large percentage of successful individuals across most fields have attributed much of their success to mentoring, and mentoring really is an integral component of professional development and growth.
IITP Mentoring Programme
The IITP Mentoring Programme matches Mentors and mentoring clients, provides full training for Mentors and helps manage the mentoring relationship over time.
